Bodhrán is the heartbeat of Irish music. This ancient frame drum is traditionally made with a wooden body and a goat-skin head, and is played with a double-headed stick called a cipín, tipper, or beater.

Here is your opportunity to get your hands on the instrument under the experienced eye of some of the best bodhrán players in Ireland. You will learn various ways of how to get different sounds from the drum in this fun and very entertaining workshop. The main rhythms of Irish music – reels and jigs – are covered. Everybody in the group will be given a drum and the group will be dived into rhythm sections, each performing a different rhythm. Our facilitators will act as concert conductors to insure that the various rhythm sections come together in orchestrated harmony. The result is all Drumming Celtic Rhythm Band.
